Heart and Stroke Foundation provides Blended Learning option for individuals interested in BLS Certifcation online. The Basic life support (BLS) blended learning combines online learning and in-classroom training together. BLS certification uses a variety of eLearning tools and media such as videos and includes an online exam module.

Heart and Stroke Foundation provides Blended Learning option for individuals interested in BLS Certifcation online. The Basic life support (BLS) blended learning combines online learning and in-classroom training together. BLS certification uses a variety of eLearning tools and media such as videos and includes an online exam module.

Blended Learning courses offers ultimate flexibility to students and can be tailored by the instructor to align with students’ experience level. The learning is divided into the following components:

Online Component – self-directed online cognitive program

In-Classroom Component – classroom-based skills session

What is Basic Life Support (BLS)?

Basic Life Support (BLS) will train you to quickly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED through simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations.

Online Blended learning options:

Format is designed for first time BLS learners and/or those who do not use their BLS skills on a regular basis. After successfully passing the online component (self-directed, but typically approx. 1 – 2 hours), students attend a 2-hour in-person skills practice and evaluation session.

Duration:
Online component:~ 1 – 2 hours
In-class component: 2 hours
TOTAL LENGTH: 3 – 4 hours

Format Format is designed for BLS learners who are confident in their BLS skills, but don’t use them routinely in their normal practice. After successfully passing the online component (self-directed, but typically approx. 1 – 2 hours), students attend a 90 minute in-person skills practice and evaluation session.

TOTAL LENGTH: 2.5 – 3.5 hours

Format is designed for experienced, highly-proficient BLS providers who regularly use BLS skills in their practice. After successfully passing the online component (self-directed, but typically approx. 1 – 2 hours), students attend a 1-hour in-person skills practice and evaluation session
